Weekend in Cambridge

Philip and I decided to get out of London for the weekend so headed to Cambridge by train, which only took about 1 1/2hours. It was still quite cold (as you can see by the winter coats) but was nice clear weather. The first day we spent exploring Cambridge. We discovered a farmers markets so collected some goodies and hired a punting boat and went punting down the river. We also visited Kings College and by chance the choir was practising in the Cathedral so we were quite lucky to hear them. We wandered around the town and as you can see it's very picturesque.

The second day we caught the bus out to a small village called Ely. The town is known for their famous Cathedral (the one in the picture) and we stopped into a pub for a pub lunch, our best so far in England!! Then back on the train Sunday night to London.
