Scotland

We headed up to Scotland for a week. To save money we caught the megabus up and back for only a couple of quid each way, it was nine hours each way and coming back to London we caught the bus overnight. We did a four day tour and spent two days by ourselves in Edinburgh.

Map of where we went on our Tour

Travelling up to Edinburgh on the bus - nap time!

Our first meal in Scotland - it had to be traditional! 'Haggis, Neeps and Tatties' Basically an offal delight, mashed potatoes and mashed swede - very tastey!

Hamish the highland cow - a Scottish icon

A quick stop off for a picnic lunch

We went for a bush walk and drank from this stream - possibly the nicest, sweetest water we've ever tasted

Sampling a bit of 21 year old whiskey

Philip on the piano one night - quite a star!

At the end of the tour we had some money left over in the 'kitty' fund so we all opted to buy a bottle of whiskey that was passed around the bus!

We couldn't resist some good old fashioned fish n chips, although I was very disappointed the local fishy didn't have any mushy peas in stock, just after I had developed a taste for them!

The Visa!!!

After many months of stress and waiting we finally got Philip's visa!! We were meant to pick it up the day before we flew out (cutting it very tight) but as a surprise Philip managed to pick it up the week before, definately a happy moment!!

Goodbyes in London :(

Philip finished work a week before me and had his going away drinks at the Pitcher and Piano. It was a great night, slightly messy and in typical London style we finished the night with a kebab!

Here is my work going away lunch at Silks and Spices, mmm Thai food! I also had some going away drinks but unfortunately didn't take any photos.

We left for Scotland for a week (another blog entry) and had two days back in London before we flew out. Unfortuntely we weren't in London for a Saturday night so decided to have a traditional Sunday roast lunch in Parson's Green at the White Horse.
